Ashkan Sahihi (b. Tehran, Iran, 1963; lives and works in Berlin) is a photographer whose work always articulates a direct relation to his current place of residence. After his last project, Die Berlinerin (2015), for which he photographed 375 women, he now unlocks his archive and presents pictures from his New York years. Sahihi lived in the metropolis from 1987 until 2014, working for renowned periodicals including the New York Times Magazine, the New Yorker, and Vogue.
