How Can Democracy Be Re-Designed?

Does democracy need an update? Have we been lulled into complacency by the belief that our democracy is rock-solid? How can we put a more direct form of democratic engagement to the test? All in! Re-Designing Democracy sheds light on the current widespread desire for broader participation in decision-making as well as on the traditional forms of democracy. The project is about public involvement in the exercise of authority and about designing structures in which power is shared. The reader accompanying and expanding on the exhibition presents works of art and design objects as well as a wealth of material evidence from the cultural history of politics, from architecture, film, and photography. With Essays by Johanna Adam, Christine Ax, Claudia Chwalisz, Nikita Dhawan, Zakia Elvang, Jesko Fezer, Kaja Harter-Uibopuu, Amelie Klein, Peter C.
