Humorous Guests in Public Space
Katharina Trudzinski (b. Aachen, 1977; lives and works in Berlin) is a sculptor. Her large sculptural installations––painted in bright fluorescent colors––carefully balance physical forces and humorous gestures. Trudzinski’s geometric shapes rise brightly from a manhole cover, bend against a lowered shutter, stretch out on a bench, lean against a fence, or curve between concrete pillars. These aesthetic solutions appear to come out of nowhere, as unexpected visitors to our reality.
The publication November Walk unveils a series of ephemeral sculptures in public space. The artist invites us on a journey through urban landscapes, encouraging to reassess and rediscover these spaces through her playful and poetic interventions. With an essay by art critic and writer Kristian Vistrup Madsen.
